Actually she has identifying which plants and berries are poisonous. She was quizzing herself. It’s foreshadowing because she later dies from eating poisonous berries; in the book, it’s seen as a foolish mistake, but because of this scene, it has implications of suicide.

Happy birthday (a day late) to Thomas William Hiddleston, the brilliant actor who has changed lives through his kindness, humor, good-will and charity towards everyone. Only a week ago he was in Guinea for the organization UNICEF, helping malnourished citizens. He has never failed to thank his devoted fans. We all know and love him as Loki, Captain Nicholls, Steve (along with Wendy), Prince Hal, F. Scott Fitzgerald, and many others. But most of all, we know and love him as Tom, and that is what counts. Thank you to Mr. and Mrs. Hiddleston for bringing such a spectacular human being into the world :)
